Drug Arrest Made in Clearfield Borough

Clearfield Regional Police have reported a successful warrant service in Clearfield Borough, resulting in a significant drug arrest. Acting on information provided by the department, officers apprehended 30-year-old Shay T. Witherite in the 200-block of South Third Street. Witherite was wanted on three active warrants, and upon his arrest, he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Consequently, Witherite has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently being held in the county jail.

Another drug arrest took place in Lawrence Township, specifically in the 200-block of Maple Avenue. In response to a report of a male passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in a driveway, police arrived at the scene and discovered drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Further investigation led to the seizure of numerous pills and methamphetamine. The male offender has been identified as 33-year-old Nevin Kruise II. He is now facing charges for possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

In a separate incident, 35-year-old Lance Spencer of Clearfield has been charged with sexual assault. The investigation was initiated on October 22, 2023, when a juvenile provided initial details to the police. Subsequent interviews conducted at the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County revealed a victim from a previous incident, who provided corroborating details. As a result, police obtained a warrant for Spencer on charges of aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors, and related offenses. Spencer is currently scheduled for a preliminary hearing on January 24 during centralized court, and his bail has been set at $25,000.

Additionally, Clearfield Borough experienced an incident of access device fraud on East Market Street. Police discovered that a 40-year-old male had attempted to use two stolen credit cards, resulting in charges being filed through the district court.
