Bannock County Coroner Identifies Victim of Pocatello Creek Road Shooting

The Bannock County Coroner’s Office has officially identified the man who tragically lost his life on Monday morning near Pocatello Creek Road. The victim has been named as Zacary M Shumway, a 49-year-old resident of Bannock County. This devastating incident occurred around 1 a.m. at a residence located on the 8700 block of North Maple Grove Lane, according to a news release issued by the county.

Deputies swiftly responded to reports of a domestic dispute shortly after 1:15 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Shumway deceased. Fortunately, the three other individuals present in the home during the incident remained unharmed, as stated in the release.

In order to determine the exact cause and manner of death, the coroner’s office has ordered an autopsy. Meanwhile, the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office is diligently investigating this case as a homicide.
